In this collection, each piece represents the childlike sense of curiosity that got me hooked on art in the beginning. Every painting blends the mind of a child with the dichotomy of experiences that adulthood brings.
The first memories making art that I have are of my Grandpa teaching me how to draw Porky the Pig and Bugs Bunny around the age of four. I quickly got into superhero coloring books after that. Cartoons and comics have a pure childlike energy to them, but as I've grown my perception on them has changed. Much like my perception on life, the way I see it is not as it was when I was a child.
Through this collection I aim to combine my roots as an artist with my changing perspectives on life as I've gotten older.
It is important to recognize your roots; what makes you you. It is also important to grow beyond them.
